Rose Marie Barnes, age 69, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Barnes was born on May 16, 1945, in Douglas, GA to the late Charlie Roberson Spivey and Georgiann Leavens Spivey.

Survivors include: her husband, Harold Barnes of Douglas, GA; three daughters, Wendy (Michael) Spikes, Synda (Buddy) Carver, and Trish Gillis all of Douglas, GA; six grandchildren, Annslee Spikes, Heidi Spikes, Ethan Carver, Whitley Carver, Tristan Gillis, and Jordan Gillis all of Douglas, GA; sister, Geneva Youngblood of Pearson, GA; two brothers, Bobby Spivey of Jacksonville, FL and Bud Spivey of Waresboro, GA; caretaker, Dottie Paulk; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Stevens Pearson and two brothers, C.R. Spivey, Jr. and John Spivey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 and Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Holiness Baptist Camp Ground with Rev. Edsel Young, Rev. Steve Willingham, Rev. Kenneth Matthews, and Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. Music is furnished for the service by Musgrove Family “When I’ve Traveled My Last Mile”, “Look What I Traded For A Mansion”, and “One Step Behind You”, and Congregation “When The Home Gates Swing Open” with Bonnie Musgrove playing the piano. Active Pallbearers are: Kevin Spivey, Kyle Spivey, Steve Adams, Stacy Adams, Chris Starling, and Josh Griffin. Honorary Pallbearers are: Holiness Baptist Ministers and wives. Interment followed at Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
