An armed robbery that occurred early this morning at Aden’s Minit Mart has police searching for one suspect.

Douglas police officers responded to Aden’s at 1020 East Baker Highway at around 1:30a.m., following a report of an armed robbery.

A store employee stated to the officers that a black male, who was wearing a black hoodie-style jacket, blue jeans, and a black mask that hid his face, entered the store carrying a dark-colored handgun, which he allegedly pointed at the clerk.

Officials with the police department state the store clerk gave the offender an undisclosed amount of cash from one of the store’s registers, and the suspect subsequently fled on foot towards the area of Amberwood Apartments.

Investigators are attempting to identify the perpetrator, and have asked anyone with information that could lead to resolving the case to contact the police department at (912) 384-2222 or the tips line at (912) 260-3600.
