Mrs. Eulane Dorminey Meeks, age 93 of Douglas, passed away late Friday afternoon, June 20, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Meeks was born April 29, 1921, to the late John Bradford Dorminey and the late Lista Vickers Dorminey. Mrs. Meeks, a native of Coffee County, was a beautician. She was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran. She liked to work in her yard, quilt, and fish. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Meeks, five brothers, Furman Dorminey, Stanton Dorminey, Chester Dorminey, Wallace Dorminey, and Bertram Dorminey, five sisters, Mary Ellen Vickers, Anna Belle Rhodes, Josie Goode, Suzie Curl, and Florine Howard.

Mrs. Meeks was a member of the St. Illa Baptist Church; however, she had been attending the College Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include: one son: Jeff Meeks of Douglas; two sisters: Geraldine Grantham of Dougla and Evelyn Solomon of Alma; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 3:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Mercer officiating. The Interment followed in the Hebron Cemetery near Douglas. Active pallbearers were John Allen Howard, Wayne Grantham, Butch Solomon, Bobby Solomon, Taze Latham, Earl Hann, Warren Dorminey, and Bert Solomon. A special musical selection, “Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone” was presented by the soloist, Rev. Mark Mercer, with CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were presented by the pianist, Tommy Harrell.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
