Four Coffee Countians, including two current elected officials and one former city commissioner, are voicing their support for Democratic incumbent John Barrow, officially offering their endorsements for the 12th District Georgia Congressman.
Coffee County Sheriff Doyle Wooten, County Commissioner Charles “Scooter Bill” Dean, former City Commissioner Johnnie Lee Roper, and Douglas attorney Jeff Hennesy were each named as endorsers of Barrow in a press release issued by the Congressman’s campaign on Thursday.
The press release read, “Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today rolled out a list of endorsements from all 19 counties in the 12th District. The list of endorsements includes Democrats and Republicans, elected officials and community leaders, and residents of the 12th District who are committed to reelecting Congressman Barrow this November.”
“Folks are more energized than ever for our campaign,” said Congressman Barrow. “We’re only as strong as the people we have on the ground, and today, we have folks from all walks of life and political backgrounds who are throwing their support behind my campaign. I’m humbled by their support, and I’ve promised to all of them that I’ll continue to fight for this district in Congress when I’m reelected in November.”
Barrow faces opposition in the November general election from Republican Rick Allen.
