John Howard Mixon, age 61, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Mixon was born on September 10, 1954, in Sylacauga, AL to the late Jesse Mixon and Lou Emma Collins Mixon.

Survivors include: his four sons, Clarence Mixon of Douglas, GA, John Gardner of Douglas, GA, Jesse Wall of Lakeland, GA and Radonas Serano of Douglas, GA; five sisters, Mary (Joe) Braziel of Irwinville, GA, Shirley (Wilbert) Mathis of Irwinville, GA, Jean (Hugh) Lewis of McDonough, GA, Mary Ann Cocker of Tallapoosa, FL, and Sandra (John) Baker of Tallapoosa, GA, two brothers, Robert (Marylin) of Douglas, GA and Billy Lackey of Tallapoosa, AL; special friend, Sheryl Herrin of Douglas, GA; twelve grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Serena Gayle Mixon; sister, Myrtle Whitley; and three brothers, Andy Holton, Joe Payton, and Charles Adams.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinetta Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Levi Jones officiating.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
