After two successful seasons playing for the South Georgia State College (SGSC) Lady Hawks, Amy Latner has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career with Warner University in Lake Mary, Fla. Latner is from Thomasville, Ga., where she attended Thomasville High School and played for the Bulldogs softball team.

Latner has been the starting catcher for both her freshman and sophomore seasons at SGSC. She has been a standout on the field as well as in the classroom. Latner is a member of SGSC’s Kappa Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and was selected as a 2015 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar.

SGSC head coach Nichole Levering says, “Amy is a great leader with a passionate work ethic and love for the game. Along with being an excellent catcher, Amy is an excellent student. We know we will see great things from her as she moves on to Warner University in the fall.”

Latner will pursue a degree in exercise science and athletic training at Warner University.
