Mrs. Patricia Gayle Stidham Thurston, age 66, passed away early Monday morning, August 29, 2016, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born January 14, 1950 to the late Ed Harmon Stidham and the late Patricia Lewis Stidham.

Mrs. Thurston, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, had lived in the Douglas area for many years. She was an Educator and the Assistant Principal of Satilla Elementary, West Side Elementary, and West Green Elementary Schools. She was also preceded in death by a Brother, Ed Stidham.

Survivors include: Her Husband: Harry Thurston, III of Douglas, Ga.; 2 Sons: Hunter Thurston and Jack Thurston, both of Douglas, Ga.; 4 Brothers: Harley Harmon, Freddy Harmon, and Ricky Harmon, all of South Carolina and Earl Vinson Stidham of Douglas, Ga.; 3 Sisters: Velma Bryant of Douglas, Ga., Tammy Harmon and Cassey Harmon, both of South Carolina. 6 Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 11:00 A. M., at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Mercer officiating. The Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
