Florine Sapp Joyce, of Nashville, Georgia, died peacefully in Douglas on May 10, 2017 at the age of 81. Mrs. Joyce was born on November 19, 1935, in Douglas to the late James Allen Sapp and Effie Lee Brigmond Sapp.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (the late Melvin) Buchanan of Enigma, Georgia; Larry Wayne (Terri) Joyce of Enigma, Georgia; Lynda Joyce of Irwinville, Georgia; Cynthia (John) Keanon of Douglas, Georgia; and Lamar (Traci) Joyce of Nashville, Georgia. She is also survived by her sisters, Lois (Gene) Wilkes of Rockledge, Florida and Geraldine (Wayne) Solomon of Douglas, Georgia. She leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Barney Joyce of Enigma, Georgia; grandson, James Buchanan of Enigma, Georgia, and great-grandson, Andrew Joyce of Irwinville, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Locamy and Evelyn Lawrence of Douglas, Georgia and a brother, James Allen “Buddy” Sapp of Toccoa, Georgia.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bro. John Keanon, Bro. Matt Keanon, Sister Sandra Buchanan, and Bishop Michael Jackson. Interment followed at Hebron Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
