Friday, Tywone Brewton, 18 of Douglas, was arrested in connection with a shooting that took place in the city a week ago. On Friday, July 14, Ricardio Cortez Mitchell, 28, was shot on South McDonald Road. He was life-flighted to Jacksonville, Fla., where he remains in critical condition.

Brewton, nicknamed Squirm, turned himself into authorities on Friday, July 21. Brewton was charged with aggravated assault. The investigation is ongoing and more charges may follow.
