Jerry ‘Pool’ Powell

Mr. Jerry “Pool” Powell, age 68, of Ambrose, GA passed away Sunday morning, August 13, 2017, at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Powell was born January 3, 1949 to the late Comer W. Powell and the late Beulah Wooten Powell. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers; Jerome Powell and Royce Powell.

Mr. Powell was a native of Jeff Davis County, GA. He was employed with Winn Dixie for 18 years as a meat cutter and then with the City of Douglas in the Water Department. Later he and his wife owned and operated Evans-Powell Mobile Home Park. He attended Westwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Peggy Evans Powell of Ambrose, GA; son, Steven Powell of Ambrose, GA; sister, Joyce Ferro of Snipesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. The interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Westwood Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
