At the City Commission meeting on Thursday, June 28, 2018, Waste Industries presented the City with a donation of $3,000 for the Douglas Mayor’s Youth Council.  The Douglas Mayor’s Youth Council is a 14 member youth council created to foster leadership skills, volunteerism and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding the policy that affect Douglas youth.  Special thanks to Waste Industries for the donation.

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the City of Douglas Commission meeting, Waste Industries presented the City and Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation with a donation of $5,000 for the Douglas Miracle Field.  The Douglas Miracle Field is slated to begin construction in Fall 2018.  The Miracle Field will be a playground and baseball field for special needs children and adults.   Special thanks to Waste Industries for the donation.

City leaders accepted a donation from Southwire’s vendors and employees for the construction of the Douglas Miracle Field on Friday, June 29, 2018.  “This donation will help the late Commissioner Johnnie Lee Roper’s dream become a reality,”  says Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk.  “Without strong community partnerships with businesses like Southwire, we would not be able to start this project that will benefit special needs children and adults in our community as well as surrounding communities.”  Special thanks to Southwire for the donation.
