The City of Douglas is seeking several individuals to serve on City of Douglas boards and commissions.
The Ethics Committee is seeking five volunteers to fill vacancies on the Ethics Committee. All individuals serving on the Ethics Committee, must live within the city limits of Douglas and one must be an attorney. Volunteers interested in serving on the Ethics Committee, should contact the City Clerk’s office for more details and to submit a volunteer application.
The City of Douglas is seeking two volunteers to serve on the Library Board and also seeking three volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission. Interested volunteers, should contact the City Clerk’s office to obtain volunteer expectations and applications.
The City of Douglas is currently seeking one volunteers to fill vacancies on the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). Anyone desiring to serve on DDA must meet the following stipulations: the volunteer must be a taxpayer residing in the municipal corporation for which the authority is created; must be the owner or operator of a business located within the downtown development area and is a taxpayer residing in the county in which is located the municipal corporation for which the authority is created; or the volunteer must have a combination of the qualifications specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection.
The City of Douglas is seeking a citizen who is willing to offer their time to serve on the Historic Preservation Committee. All members of this committee must reside in the City of Douglas and shall be persons who have demonstrated special interest, experience or education in history, and architecture or the preservation of historic resources.
