Douglas native Dr. Chad Whittle launches new podcast

Dr. Chad Whittle’s new podcast, The Chad Whittle Podcast, is now online on all major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, Google Podcasts, Overcasts, Stitcher, and ChadWhittle.com.

On the monthly program, Whittle is joined by professionals in the media industry to discuss how technology is changing their field and the latest developments within their industry. In addition, the guests share advice to students seeking a mass communication degree by taking a look back at their career.

Whittle hopes this program can become a resource for the academic community that professors can share with their students to help complement topics they discuss in their classrooms by offering interviews with professional media figures.

In the first episode now available online, Chad is joined by Jeff Ehling of KTRK ABC 13 Houston. In the premiere episode, they discuss his career, how local journalism has changed due to the internet, and he offers advice to college students seeking a career in broadcast journalism.

Upcoming guests (scheduled to appear) include Preston Scott, host of “The Morning Show with Preston Scott,” on 100.7 FM WFLA Tallahassee; Brodie Lawson, on-camera host of the Canadian Football League (CFL); James Cridland of Podcast News and Seth Emerson of The Athletic.

Dr. Whittle holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Masters of Arts in Communication and Bachelors of Fine Arts, Mass Media, Broadcast Journalism, from Valdosta State University.
