Who’s better – police officers or firemen? The City of Douglas will attempt to answer that question in about a week at Roundtree Park.

The Douglas Police Department and the Douglas Fire Department would like to invite everyone to join in on the fun during the first “Battle of the Badges” Benefit Softball Game on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 4 pm at Roundtree Park.  The softball game will benefit the annual community toy drive that donates to local families at Christmas.

“This will be a family friendly game of softball and all City employees and family members are welcome to take part in the game,” says Police Chief Shane Edmisten.  “We want the community to come out, support their favorite team, and enjoy the fun.”

Participants and attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped $10 toy for boys and girls up to age 12 for the community toy drive; however, a donation is not required.  For more information, please contact Douglas Police Chief Shane Edmisten (912) 384-2222 or Lt. Rex Harper (912) 384-4815 with the Douglas Fire Department.
