Mr. Adolph Mills Drury III, age 77 of Douglas, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Bacon County Hospital in Alma following an extended illness. Mr. Drury was born October 7, 1942 to the late Adolph Mills Drury II and the late Sarah Jane Turner Drury. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis Drury.

 

Mr. Drury was a native of Bainbridge, GA. He had been previously employed as a social worker with the Department of Family and Children Services. He attended Stone’s Chapel Church in Broxton.

 

Survivors include: Children Stewart Drury and wife Kristy of Douglas, GA, Ellen Fitzgerald and husband Clay of Douglas, GA, and David Drury and wife Katie of Brunswick; siblings Jonnie Ruth Lasch of Deland, FL and Gary Drury of Jackson, GA; grandchildren Stewart Anson Drury, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, Aaron Charles Drury of Douglas, GA, Mary Virginia Drury and Johnathan Coleman Drury, both of Brunswick, GA, Aubree Layne Fitzgerald and Asher Brennan Fitzgerald, both of Douglas; nieces Shannon Coven of Deland, FL and Meredith Drury of Winterville, GA.

 

The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Mock officiating. The interment will follow at Burnt Fort Cemetery in White Oak, GA.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 7, 2020 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
