Mrs. Marjorie Newbern Giddens, age 89, Pearson, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at Lakeside Senior Living in Douglas, following an extended illness.

Survivors include: Daughters: Gladieth Nugent of Pearson and Patricia Linn Wright of Atlanta; brother Thomas Newbern and wife Marge of Pisgah Forest, N.C.; grandchildren Diedre Joiner and husband Jeff of Kingsland, Kristan Harper of Pearson, Zane Nugent of Savannah, Shannon Marcus of Macon, Abby Johnson and husband Garrick of Richardton, N.D., and Dana Wright of Milledgeville; seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ila Walker Newbern; sister, Doris Newbern Martin; and brother, H.C. Newbern.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Giddens were held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Worzella officiating. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
