CMS FBLA wins Chapter of the Year award

Coffee Middle FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) had a wonderful time at the Middle Level State Leadership Conference in Covington on Monday, February 24, 2020

Here are a few highlights of the trip to Covington and awards members and advisers brought home. Lenira Barlow received an appreciation plaque for serving as the 2019-2020 Georgia ML State Vice President. She finished her duties as the Vice President and did an outstanding job during the awards ceremony. Coffee Middle FBLA was named 2020 State Champion Chapter of the Year and received the Gold Chapter Award for their commitment, participation and involvement in competitive events, school and community service projects, and recruitment activities.   

Congratulations to Jaxsen Guthrie, who was chosen to serve as the Georgia ML State Secretary for the 2020-2021 school year. Also receiving awards and recognition for their outstanding support and guidance are Ms. Courtney Shealy, who was nominated by members of the Coffee Middle FBLA and was awarded the Outstanding Middle Level Supporter for the Georgia ML FBLA.  CMS FBLA Adviser, Mrs. Heather Stodghill, was named Middle Level FBLA Adviser of the Year.  

A total of 37 students participated in State Leadership Competitive Events in FBLA.   Students placing in the TOP 10 at Middle Level State Leadership Conference are: Sarah Ott 2nd place for Career Exploration; Lenira Barlow 6th place for FBLA Concepts; Macy Roberson 4th place in Public Speaking; Taycee Greene 7th place in FBLA Creed;, Lenira Barlow and Jaxsen Guthrie 7th place in Critical Thinking; Nora Lott 2nd place in Elevator Speech; Caroline Spivey, Florence Shealy, and Tanner Logue 2nd place in Invention Convention; Keeley Doherty, Anslee Smith and Sarah Ott 2nd place Community Service Project and Presentation; and Nora Lott and Macy Robinson 5th place Video Public Service Announcement.
