Miss Willie Pearl Davis, born on June 12, 1905, was a lifelong resident of Coffee County, Georgia. She died May 2, 2000, six days shy of her 95th birthday.

Throughout her years, Miss Willie Pearl touched the lives of thousands of people through her service to the community, her church and as a teacher in Coffee County. In addition to her career as an English teacher in Coffee County for more than forty years, she coached basketball and taught Sunday school for more than sixty-eight years at First Baptist Church in Douglas, Georgia.

The recipient of the Willie Pearl Davis Leadership Scholarship must be first and foremost the epitome of a lady. She must exhibit honor, integrity and academic achievement. She must possess Christian discipleship and moral fortitude. She must be a class leader.
