Douglas public safety agencies will host a Community Toy Drive, 8am-12Noon, on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Walmart.  Citizens are asked to stop by and drop a new, unwrapped toy for boys and girls ages 0-12 years or make a monetary donation to the toy drive to assist with providing Christmas gifts to children on the list this year.

“Last year, the Community Toy Drive Committee gave away gifts to over 300 children in need,” says Patrick West, DPD Community Relations Officer.  “This year, the list has grown to over 400, so we really need community support to make this successful.”

Anyone wishing to drop off a new toy or monetary donation to the toy drive may do so by stopping by the Douglas Police Department located at 225 W. Bryan Street or Douglas Fire Department located at 306 E. Cherry Street.  Special thanks to Southwire, CSRA Probation Services, Douglas Police Department, Douglas Fire Department, City of Douglas, Walmart Store 593, Douglas Lions Club, and other local businesses for their continued support and contributions to this community event.
