South Georgia State College’s men’s basketball team ran its current winning streak to six games Saturday afternoon with a 112-67 win over Combine Academy.

Bryce Brown led the Hawks (6-0) with 19 points and six rebounds. Jalen King finished with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists. Alex Johnson had 14 points, AJ Spencer scored 13 points and Jordan Coffee rounded out the top scoring with 10 points and five assists.

SGSC finishes its abbreviated non-conference schedule outscoring six opponents by an average of 107-63. The Hawks will open conference play this Tuesday night in Swainsboro against the East Georgia State Bobcats. The Bobcats will travel to Waycross Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip.

The coaches of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association have picked SGSC to finish third this season behind defending conference champion Central Georgia Tech and Georgia Highlands. SGSC’s last regular season conference game is on the road March 27 against Gordon State. The GCAA Conference Tournament is scheduled for April 9-10.

SGSC’s regular season schedule was shortened to 22 games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free. Limited tickets will be sold for each home game in Douglas and Waycross to accommodate social distancing, and face coverings are required at each site. No game or season passes are available for the 2021 season.
