In preparation for the 2021-2022 school year, the Coffee County Board of Education recently announced two new administrative appointments that will take effect as of July 1, 2021. Dr. Christina Tucker will be the Assistant Superintendent of Standards, Instruction and Assessment and Ms. Tamara Morgan will be the Director of Federal Programs.
For the past two years, Dr. Tucker has been the Director of Federal Programs. Completing her 28th year in education, Dr. Tucker has served as the principal of Eastside Elementary and assistant principal for instruction on the campus of Eastside Elementary and Indian Creek Elementary. Additionally, she has secondary experience as the Assistant Principal at East Coffee Middle School and then G.W. Carver Freshman Campus. Beginning her teaching career with Coffee County Schools in August of 1993 at Satilla Elementary and continuing at West Coffee Middle School, Dr. Tucker served as a classroom teacher and literacy coach prior to entering administration.
A graduate of Valdosta State University, Dr. Tucker earned her Bachelor of Science, Masters of Education, Educational Specialist and Ed.D in Middle Grades Education and Educational Leadership and Supervision.
Dr. Tucker will replace Ms. Kim Miller, who is retiring June 30, 2021.
Ms. Tamara Morgan, who has served as the principal of Indian Creek Elementary for the past six years, will replace Dr. Christina Tucker as the Director of Federal Programs.
Completing her 25th year in education, Ms. Morgan began her teaching career on the campus of West Coffee Middle School and continued at Indian Creek Elementary. In 2007, she moved into administration as the assistant principal for instruction at Satilla Elementary School.
A graduate of Valdosta State University, Mrs. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education, her M.Ed. and Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership.
