Trojan track teams take first on Senior Night

The Coffee High Trojan Track Team hosted Irwin County and Wayne County on Senior Night, which took place on April 20. The Lady Trojans scored 81 points to the Wayne County Lady Jackets’ 50 points. The Trojans scored 72 points to edge out the Wayne County Jackets’ 59 points and Irwin County Indians’ 27 points. Coaches and fans also honored the Coffee High seniors as it was their last home track meet of their high school career: Zach Cooper, Earnest Edwards, Garratt Mancil, Hunter Milhollin, Jason Murray, Jai’Mahrion Reed, Ayshon Reed, Humberto Rivas, Arlis Sutton and Cameron Watson.

 

Ja’Maria Harvey scored two first place finishes in the 200 meter dash (26.73) and 400 meter dash (1:02.88). Ainsley Myers won the 800 meter run with a time of 3:15.00. Kate Merritt had two first place finishes in the 1600 meter run (6:20.0) and 3200 meter run (12:41.0). Coffee High Lady Trojans took first place in all three relays. The 4X100 meter relay team of Breana Griffin, Iyanni Johnson, Janiya Brown, and Ja’Maria Harvey finished with a time of 52.93 seconds. 4X400 meter relay team of Iyani Johnson, Janiya Brown, Ja’Maria Harvey and Kate Merritt finished with a time of 5:07.0. Relay team of Morgan Adams, Ainsley Myers, Brayden Bailey and Kate Merritt completed the 4X800 meter relay in a time of 11:58.00. Gabby Mann had two place finishes in the long jump clearing 15 feet. Mann’s triple jump cleared 34 feet and 4.5 inches.


Cameron Watson completed in three individual events with three first place finishes. In the 800 meter dash, he finished the race in 2:06.0. Cameron completed the 1600 meter run in 4:56.0 and finished the day with a 9:59.0 time in the 3200 meter run. Zach Cooper ran 18.69 for a first place finish and a personal record. Coffee Trojan 4X400 relay team of Travis Adams, Dedrick Flagg, Chris Stafford and Deuce Eddington with a time of 4:01.0. The relay team for the 4X800 scored a first place finish with a time of 9:58.0 consisting of members of Olan Dickson, Carter Young, Garrett Mancil, and Hunter Milhollin. Chris Stafford scored a first place finish in the triple jump clearing 43 feet. Zyshon Reed threw the shot put 44 feet and 3 inches, setting a new personal record.
