On a worldwide tour Leonid & Friends, a Russian band which has captured the spirit and sound of the American supergroup Chicago, will perform at The Martin Center in Douglas on Saturday, September 25 at 8 p.m.

The concert in Douglas will be a part of a national tour which begins July 15 in Milwaukee. Leonid & Friends, comprised of 11 of the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, haven’t seen Chicago perform life, yet replicates the band’s complex arrangements amazingly note for note.  “Chicago has never been in Russia, and none of us have attended their concerts,” said Leonid Vorobyev, the band’s leader.  “We have only recordings and videos to help us learn Chicago songs.”

In just three short years, Leonid & Friends have blown the minds of legions of fans with their uncanny ability to capture the spirit, musicality and fire of the America’s popular band, Chicago. Their first video went viral, but they really gained traction when Chicago itself published the video on its official website.  This incredible 11-piece tribute band has over 500,000 followers across social media and has had an astonishing 100 million+ video views. A national music magazine said “The future is only looking up for Leonid & Friends.

The Douglas concert is being sponsored by O’Malley Musical Instruments and Danny’s Pizza. Tickets for the tour are on sale on the Leonid & Friends website www.eventbrite.com/…leonid-friends-tickets
