Coffee High School FBLA is finally back on the road after 19 long months of no travel due to COVID-19. FBLA members anxiously awaited their trip to Six Flags for the Fall Motivational Rally to be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, for several weeks in hopes that it was not cancelled. As the day finally arrived, the weather forecast called for lots of rain, but members were determined that a little rain wouldn’t keep them away.
FBLA would like to send a special thanks to the Lowes Corporation and local Lowes store manager, Al Silver, for donating rain ponchos for all of the Coffee High School and Coffee Middle School FBLA advisers and students who attended the rally. When Mr. Silver found out that FBLA would be allowed to travel again but that it was going to rain most of the day, he quickly volunteered for Lowes to donate the ponchos for all to wear and boy, did they come in handy!
The rally kick starts Georgia FBLA chapters for an action-packed FBLA season each year. Members learn how to better themselves as a leader and hear encouraging words from a motivational speaker every year. This year, FBLA members heard from Patty Hendrickson, who engaged the audience with her “heads” or “tails” game. Afterwards, members enjoyed themselves around the well-known theme park where they had a fun-filled day riding thrilling roller coasters and enjoying cotton candy, candy apples, and funnel cakes.
