Operation Gucci, a months-long drug investigation in Douglas, resulted in the arrests of James Robinson and Demarcus Holland, both of Douglas, on a variety of drug charges. Another investigation yielded two more arrests.

Operation Gucci began in June and focused on the residence at 915 Martin Luther King Drive. As a result, officers seized over 13 ounces of marijuana, 21 grams of heroin, 24 grams of cocaine, nearly 3 ounces of molly, and over $6,000.

Robinson and Holland were arrested and charged with:

  • possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
  • possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • trafficking of MDMA (molly)
  • trafficking of heroin
  • possession of a controlled substance
  • distribution/possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school

Robinson was also charged with:

  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • participation in criminal street gang activity

In November, the Crime Suppression Unit continued its investigation and served a search warrant at 801 Pine Street. Within the residence, officers discovered approximately 1.6 ounces of cocaine, 19.3 grams of molly, over 3 ounces of marijuana, one Ruger 5.7 handgun, 87 Oxycodone tablets, and over $3,600 in cash.

As a result, Dequatte Tucker and Anthony Gaskin, both of Douglas, were arrested and charged with:

  • trafficking in cocaine
  • possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance with intent to distribute
  • distribution/possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
  • possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Tucker was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Tucker also had a probation warrant at the time of the operation.

Please report any drug activity to the Douglas Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit by calling 912-384-2222 or the tip line 912-260-3600 or email bhaygood@cityofdouglas.com
