Coffee Regional Medical Center is proud to be designated as an Orthopedic Center of Excellence. This designation affirms CRMC’s excellence in the provision of diagnostic, surgical and therapy services related to orthopedic care. The requirements set forth by DNV, the accreditation organization CRMC was reviewed by, are based on the guidelines, recommendations and practices recognized by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and/or the North American Spine Society.

CRMC’s choice to seek the center of excellence certification was voluntary and our team of surgeons, leaders and caregivers chose to seek the prestigious Orthopedic Center of Excellence designation to provide assurance to our patients that they will receive the very best care.

Orthopedic surgery has experienced many innovations over recent years, resulting in increased patient expectations for evidence-based, quality care.  The Orthopedic Center of Excellence designation is obtained by achieving certification in at least three (3) orthopedic service line programs. CRMC’s orthopedic service line programs under this designation include Hip & Knee Replacement Certification, Shoulder Surgery Certification and Spine Surgery Certification. Program certification is valid for three years and requires subsequent annual surveys to validate continuing compliance.

As part of our strategic plan, Coffee Regional Medical Center strives to continuously offer the very best care. Coffee Regional Medical Center’s President & CEO Vicki Lewis shared this about this achievement: “Being designated as an Orthopedic Center of Excellence by DNV is an important step in the future of our orthopedic care. This process is ongoing and will help us move forward knowing that we are doing our best and embracing the accountability and transparency of this rigorous and patient-focused achievement. I am so proud and happy to be part of this outstanding team of physicians and caregivers.”

DNV Orthopedic Program Certification is recognized as meeting the certification qualification requirements for organizations seeking the Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Specialty Care Center for Spine Surgery and Knee and Hip Replacement and the Aetna Institutes of Quality Orthopedic Surgery Network for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery designations.
