Drug unit rounds up suspected dealers, fugitives, and sex offenders

The Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) announces the following recent drug-related arrests:

Feb. 1 – CCDU detectives observed what they believed to be a suspected drug transaction taking place on a public street within the Oak Park Community. Both subjects were identified, and an individual identified as Dishon WIlliams was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects. 

Feb. 7 – CCDU agents conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jessica Nettles. Nettles was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. She was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and  several traffic violations.

Feb. 9 – CCDU K-9 deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Crystal Yates, who was wanted on active arrest warrants for drug related charges. A further investigation by CCDU detectives led to the discovery of over an ounce of suspected methamphetamine. Yates was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

 

Feb. 10 –  The CCDU and the U.S. Marshals Service located an individual known as Pierre Donaldson, who was wanted out of Florida on drug and firearm charges. A traffic stop was made on a vehicle that Donaldson occupied. He subsequently fled from the vehicle, but was apprehended a short distance later. Donaldson was in possession of suspected cocaine at the time of his arrest.

The driver of the vehicle, Deqwavious Hawkins, was also found to be in possession of suspected cocaine. A  subsequent search of the residence that Donaldson and Hawkins departed from uncovered a firearm, which had been stolen from the City of Douglas, along with suspected crack cocaine manufacturing equipment.

Feb. 11- The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Terry Jewell and Lynn Kemp. Jewell was found to be in possession of suspected controlled substances, and Kemp was wanted on an active probation warrant. Both were arrested, and Jewell was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, and possession of marijuana. 

Feb. 14 – The CCDU located an absconded sex offender, Elix Crockett, in the Oak Park Community. Crockett was confronted by detectives, and an arrest was attempted. Crockett fled on foot before being apprehended and caused damage to a Coffee County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in the process. He was arrested and charged with interference with government property, possession of drug related objects, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer in addition to the active warrant for for failing to meet the requirements of his sex offender status.

Feb. 16 – The CCDU conducted a search of a residence in Douglas. As a result, quantities of suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana, and firearms were recovered. It was suspected that prior to entry of the residence by the CCDU, more suspected cocaine and suspected marijuana had been flushed down the toilet.

As a result of the investigation, Kendall McDuffie and Kezie McDuffie were arrested. Kendall McDuffie was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during  a crime, and other charges. Kezie McDuffie was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm during a crime, and tampering with evidence. Donaldson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and fugitive from justice. Hawkins was charged with possession of a controlled substance. 

Feb. 16 – CCDU K-9 deputies assisted with a call for service in reference to a suspected trespassing. The individuals were identified as Clay Browning and James Thompson. Both were found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Feb. 17 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Robert Brandon Royals. Royals was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and several traffic offenses. Royals was also wanted on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous date.
