Coffee High FCCLA hosted the 2022 annual Region 8 STAR Events Competitions, Saturday, February, 12. Georgia FCCLA Region 8 Adviser Tara Carver and CHS FCCLA Adviser Mrs. Lea Roberts worked tirelessly to pull off hosting 100+ FCCLA members and advisers and organizing 38 different events.

In addition to Coffee High FCCLA serving as the Region 8 STAR Events host, Coffee High FCCLA members competed and all earned the highest ranking, scoring 90-100. Emma Wilkerson competed in Promotional Presentation, Level 3, and received gold. Kylie Woods competed in Focus on Children, Level 3, and received gold. Harmone’ Merritt competed in Job Interview, Level 3, and scored gold. Rhianna Lewis competed in Public Policy Advocate, Level 2, and received a gold also.

All competitors advanced to the state competition level and will compete in Athens in March at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference and STAR Events. Coffee High FCCLA and Advisers Tara Carver and Lea Roberts would like to thank all of the fellow advisers in Region 8, community members, and CHS staff who helped set up judge events, and those that allowed their classroom space to be used for competitions. All of these efforts made Saturday a huge success.

As the 2021-2022 National FCCLA theme “Make it Count” suggests, CHS FCCLA members and members across Region 8 are making their experiences in FCCLA count and blazing a trail toward “Destination Graduation for College, Career, and Life”.
