Trojans continue to set PRs at Richmond Hill track meet

Here are the results from Coffee High’s recent track meet at Richmond Hill:

Senior Chris Stafford continued his successful year 3 personal records and breaking his own school record in the triple jump. Stafford cleared 47 feet and 11.50 inches in the triple jump. He cleared 22 feet and 6.75 inches in the long jump for a second place finish. His third personal record was in the 300 meters hurdles with a time of 41.89 seconds for a third place finish.

Junior Kate Merritt also set a new record for herself in the 1600 meter run improving her time to 5 minutes and 20.33 seconds. She placed second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11 minutes and 34.79 seconds.

Junior Nevin Swanson sets a new personal record with a second place finish with a time of 4 minutes and 48.39 seconds. Nevin also finished fourth in the 3200 meter run 10 minutes and 37.61 seconds.

Sophomore Will Bagwell finished second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10 minutes and 25.74 seconds and finished third in the 1600 meter setting a new personal record to 4 minutes and 50.70 seconds.

Jade Hamilton and Anisly Myers competed in the 2000 meter steeplechase. This is a non-constested event in the GHSA. The race consists of running 2000 meters while jumping barriers with one barrier being a water barrier. Jade Hamilton finished before Anisly to claim being the first Lady Trojan to have a time of 11 minutes and 8.56 seconds. Myers’ challenge was within two hundredths of a second with a time of 11 minutes and 8.58 seconds. Sophomore Jaiya Brown scored a sixth place finish with a time of 13.45 seconds. Sophomore Iyani Johnson finished sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.29 seconds.

Senior Brayden Bailey placed seventh in the 1600 meter run (5:59.53) and a fifth place finish in the 3200 meter run (13:03.05). Senior Keilona Bennett finished with an eighth place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (19.13).

Freshman Tyrese Woodgett finished fifth in the 100 meter dash (11.46) and a sixth place in the 200 meter dash (23.41).
