The Lady Trojans wrapped up the 2022 season in Gray at the Jones County regional going 1-2 against Jones and Northside Columbus.

In game 1, Coffee knocked off Jones County 8-7 as Erin Robinson struck out 7 in the win. Hannah Capps and Ella Winters had 2 hits each while Hanna Hutchison, Erin Robinson, Kaci Thacker, and Imani Paulk all added 1 apiece. Imani Paulk’s hit was a long 3-run homer to pace the Coffee offense.

In the winners’ bracket final Coffee lost 9-1 to last year’s state runner-up Northside, one of the better hitting teams in the state. Hannah Capps and Morgan Hodges had 2 hits each in the loss. Hanna Hutchison and Kaci Thacker added solo hits in the loss. In the final game of the ’22 season the Lady Trojans managed only 3 hits, one each by Imani Paulk, Kaci Thacker, and Erin Robinson.

“We came out flat after the loss to Northside on Thursday, it was tough being on the road back-to-back days,” said head coach Stan Hughes.

Coffee finished the 2022 season at 19-11 after playing one of the tougher schedules in the state. The Lady Trojans finished the regular season in the top 10 at #7 and had a great year.
