The Martin Centre Preservation Company, Inc. has announced receiving a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia for the rehab of the interior of the theatre just in time for the beginning of the 2022-2023 season.  Such an essential achievement is yet another quality collaboration with a known proponent for improving Georgia communities.  The Martin Centre praised the new initiative as beneficial and is grateful for the Community Foundation’s grant program.

The Martin Centre Preservation Company, Inc. recently received a $20,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Inc.  Thanks to this grant, the Martin Centre was able to perform some necessary renovations to the interior of the theatre and lobby.

“We’ve been waiting to see the Martin Centre take shape for quite some time,” Robb Hurst, Board Vice Chair, said in reaction to the news.  “Obviously, this wait has been well worth it.  This grant has allowed us to make necessary changes to the interior of the Martin Centre.”

The mission of the Martin Centre is to maintain the historical integrity of the Martin Centre while rejuvenating downtown Douglas, GA.  Thus, their clear enthusiasm for cultivating the cultural, arts, educational, and entertainment passion of the community is magnified with this grant’s positive effects.  Board President Brian Norris was adamantly supportive, saying, “We can’t wait for our Patrons and Sponsors to see these new improvements.”
