Trojans take first at home track meet

The Coffee Trojans’ men’s and women’s track teams defeated Bacon County, Berrien County and Lanier County at the first home meet of the season last Tuesday. 

 

 

The track meet produced Elite Performances according to Georgia Milesplit.com. A few standout results are as follows: 

 

 

Anthony Paulk competed in the 100 meters with a hand-held time of 10.88 seconds for a first place finish. 

 

 

Zachary Davis of Berrien County ran a hand held time of 21.61 seconds in the 200 meters, also for a first place finish. 

 

 

Ja’Maria Harvey finished first as she improved her time this year to run 1:00.83. 

 

 

Kate Merritt won the 800 meters with a time of 2:32. She also finished first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:39.

 

 

Josie Lott attempted the 3200 meters for the first for a first place finish with a time of 14:01. 

 

 

In the 100 meter hurdles, Breana Griffin ran the race in 19.56 seconds for first place. 

 

 

Breana Griffin, Iyani Johnson, Jaiya Brown, and Jamiah Hudson finished first in the 400 meter relay with a season best 52.31 seconds. 

 

 

The 800 meter relay team of Blair Paulk , Charity Sams , Deneisha Young, and Camillia Scott won the race with a time of 2:03.53. 

 

 

The 3200 meter relay team of Alisson Rivas, Nora Lott, Miarah Huratdo and Kate Merritt ran a time of 12:19. 

 

 

Macale Smith ran a season best of 58.17 seconds in the 400 meters to finish first. 

 

 

Nevin Swanson completed the 800 meter run for a first place finish in 2:12.27. 

 

 

Will Bagwell improved his personal record in the 1600 meter run with a first place finish time of 4:47. He also improved his time in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:17. 

 

 

James Jarrard had a personal record and a first place finish in the 110 meters high hurdles with a time of 17.72 seconds and the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 46.14 seconds. 

 

 

The boys 400 meter relay team of Tyriq Edwards, Travis Adams, Anthony Paulk, and Tyrese Woodgett ran a 42.52 for a first place finish. 

 

 

The team of Landon Cliett, Micale Smith , Joshua Cribb , and Nevin Swanson improved their time for the 3200 meter relay to 9:32. 

 

 

Tyriq Edwards cleared 20 feet and 9 inches in the long jump for a first place finish. 

 

 

KJ Smith jumped in the triple jump and cleared 36 feet and 1 inch for a new personal record and first place finish. 

 

 

Tyrese Hansley had a big day throwing the discus 134 feet and 10 inches for a first place finish and a new personal record. 

 

 

The Trojans competed in Tift County Saturday. Results will be released soon.
