Every five years, local government entities update the Comprehensive Plan – Short Term Work Plan (STWP). Currently, city and county officials are updating the STWP for the cities of Ambrose, Broxton, Douglas, and Nicholls and would like to receive citizen input.  The City of Douglas, Southern Georgia Regional Commission, and Coffee County leaders would like to invite the public to attend the final workshop for the Comprehensive Short Term Work Plan on Thursday, May 18, 2023, 10AM at the CE Weir Center (307 E. Bryan Street).

During the workshop, officials will discuss the Community Work Program’s new 5-Year Projects, Vision Statement, the Policies and Community Work Program accomplishments, update the maps for Land Use and Character Areas, and review the Comprehensive Plan summary for the Coffee County Joint Comprehensive Plan. Citizens will be allowed to provide input on the issues put forth and make suggestions for the revised STWP plan.

Any person with special needs relating to disability access or foreign language should contact Wynetta Bolder, City Clerk, at (912) 389-3405.  Persons with hearing disabilities may consider using the Georgia Relay Service at 1-800-255-0135.

For those who can not attend the workshop, a needs assessment survey is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NMPB7RM or at www.cityofdouglasga.gov.  For more information, please contact Ebonee Dobson, City Planner, at (912) 389-3433.
