Paula Carver Simpson, 62, was born December 8, 1960 in Ben Hill County. She was the daughter of the late Jim Brown, of Augusta, Georgia, and Evone and the late Alvin Glover of Douglas. She was a graduate of Coffee High School. Paula was self-employed and owned a cleaning service for many years.

She was married to Jerome Williams, and three children were born to this union. She later married Daniel Simpson, who preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Glover; one sister, Anita Calhoun; one grandson, Jerome Williams, III; special friend, Christine Smith Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Evone Glover; one son, Jerome (Sherry) Williams Jr. of Douglas, Georgia; two daughters: Jennifer and Patrice Williams, both of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters: Patricia (Lester) Austin of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Barbara Gibson of Broxton, Georgia; one brother, Mark Glover of Tennessee; eight lovely grandchildren: Zhaedaria, Jayvyn and Jaydyn Williams, Timothy and Tevin Williams, Damarcus Green, Jordan Williams, and Samauriah Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Broxton on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Harrell’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
