Charles Palmer, a 37-year-old Nicholls native, has recently purchased the Badcock Furniture store in Commerce, Ga.

Charles has been working since he was 12 years old. As he progressed in both life and his career, Charles ended up taking a management training position with Matt Pridemore at Badcock in Douglas. Pridemore eventually offered him a management position at the Badcock location in Madison, Ga. As time went on, Charles and his family moved about an hour north to Commerce, Ga., where he held the management title at the Badcock store up there.

Charles states that it has been a goal of his to own his own Badcock store from the start. It’s something he’s always worked toward and  he’s never strayed from that vision. The process really started to become a reality in March of 2022 when Charles formed his LLC.

Then in April of this year, he filled out his application to become owner of the Badcock store in Commerce and was eventually invited to Discovery Day. It was this invitation that really started to bring everything together for Charles. Discovery Day is when owner applicants get to meet everyone in the corporation and see how Badcock is run behind the scenes.

Charles Palmer’s title officially switched from manager to owner on August 16, 2023. He states that his new goal is to own at least 5 Badcock stores in different locations. When speaking of this amazing opportunity, Charles gives thanks to God, his family and friends, and his former boss and coworkers who have helped push him to accomplish his dreams.
