Mr. Michael David Metts, age 64 of Willacoochee, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, August 27, 2023 at Memorial Health in Savannah, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Metts was born August 20, 1959 to the late J. H. Metts and the late Virginia Mae Vickers Metts. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Metts. 

 

 

Mr. Metts, a native of Jacksonville, FL, was a self-employed truck driver. He attended Mora Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His wife: Nora Annie Lee Davis Metts of Willacoochee, GA 

 

 

1 Brother: Darrell Metts and wife Susan of Jacksonville, FL 

 

 

Special Friend: Wendell Corbitt, Sr. of Douglas, GA 

 

 

2 Step-Sons: Wendell Corbitt, Jr. and Jeffrey Kyle Corbitt both of Douglas, GA 

 

 

3 Step-Grandchildren: Kylee Alexis Grace Corbitt, Kayson Kyle Corbitt and Kambrie Annie-Jean Corbitt, all of Mora, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends 

 

 

The graveside service and interment for Mr. Metts was scheduled for Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Mora Cemetery with Rev. John Moore officiating. However, due to inclement weather, Mr. Metts’s service was postponed. At the time of this posting, it had not been re-scheduled.

 

 

In lieu of flowers for Mr. Metts, the family request that contributions be made to Ricketson Funeral Home in order to help the family with the financial needs for the service. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
