Mrs. Martha Sue Pharr Flanders, age 87, of Douglas, Georgia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Thursday morning, March 14, 2024 at The Landings of Douglas where she resided for the last few years. Mrs. Flanders was born in Booneville, Mississippi on July 18, 1936 to the late Fred Pharr and the late Effie Nicholson Pharr. She made her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Dr. Harper and Dr. Lin for many years. She later worked at Holts Bakery and Walmart. She was married to the late Jimmy Ray Flanders. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Flanders was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Pharr; and a sister, Tommie Jean Griffin.

Mrs. Flanders is survived by 2 daughters: Martha Ray Nugent & Husband Mike of Willacoochee, Georgia and Jennifer Kay Davis & Husband Mike of Pearson, Georgia; a sister Mary Fay Rhodes of Booneville, Mississippi; 4 grandchildren: Tracy (Chad) Unger of Willacoochee, Georgia, Kelly (Shannon) Shook of Nicholls, Georgia, Clay (Lane) Davis of Broxton, Georgia, Christy Metts of Douglas, Georgia; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A graveside funeral service and interment will be held for Mrs. Flanders on Monday morning, March 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Arna Cemetery with Rev. Walt DeLoach officiating.

Active pallbearers will be: Clay Davis, Carter Davis, Avery Shook, Brady Shook, Shannon Shook, and Chad Unger.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.
