The CCA Lady Patriots have outscored their opponents 53-4 over their last three games and are 7-0 on the season. Most recently, CCA defeated the Twiggs Academy Trojans 25-0 in three innings Tuesday afternoon in Douglas.

For all practical purposes, the game was over after the first inning. The Lady Patriots scored 16 runs in the first then added nine more in the second. Gracie Giddens was 3-3 with two runs scored and eight RBI. Four of her eight RBI came on an inside-the-park grand slam in the first inning. She drove in two more with a triple in the first inning as well. Giddens came back in the second and doubled, driving two more across the plate. She finished with nine total bases on the day. Emma Gourley added another inside-the-park grand slam. Brilynn Waldron also drove in four and scored three times.

Giddens was CCA’s only pitcher on the day. She went three innings and gave up two hits and struck out three. She didn’t walk anyone.

On August 22, the Lady Patriots defeated Valwood 9-1. They had a rematch with Vidalia Heritage on August 26 that went about the same way as the two teams’ first meeting; CCA won 19-3.

The Lady Patriots are in action on Thursday, August 29, 2024, against the Trinity Christian Crusaders on the CCA campus in Douglas. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
