The Community Foundation of Coffee County has created the Coffee County Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund to accept charitable contributions that will be used to help support both immediate relief efforts and long-term recovery needs specifically in Coffee County. People can give online using this link https://cfcg.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=2419
In addition to giving online, donors can
- Mail a check payable to ‘Community Foundation of Central Georgia’ and indicate ‘Coffee County Disaster Relief’ on the memo line to 577 Mulberry Street, Suite 1600 Macon, GA 31201.
- Make a gift of appreciated stock by calling Julia Wood at 478-750-9338.
- Make a charitable gift from your IRA by calling you IRA administrator to transfer the desired amount to CFCG (EIN #58-2053465).
CFCG staff will work with the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Coffee County to deploy these resources to meet needs in Coffee County, and I can share more about that in the coming days/weeks. The Community Foundation of Central Georgia worked with the Lamar County community in a similar effort following tornadoes that hit their community in 2011, so they have a model that will help Coffee County now. CFCG is also connected with the Georgia Grantmakers Alliance and Philanthropy Southeast to identify best practices for disaster relief efforts.
