The CCA Lady Patriots continued the momentum they built earlier in the week on Wednesday afternoon, beating the David Emanuel Academy Eagles 12-0 in the penultimate game of the season. The win avenged a heartbreaking loss CCA suffered to DEA earlier in the season; that game was scoreless after seven and went into extra innings before DEA finally walked it off in the ninth.
The Lady Patriots left nothing to chance on Wednesday. They scored in every inning, plating one in the first, four in the second, two in the third, and five in the fourth to win by run rule in four innings.
Brilynn Waldron drove in four runs on two hits, one of which was a triple. Emy Lowery had three hits and three RBI. Cadence Cravey, Mattie Lewis, Abrah Harris, and Arabelle Roberts each scored twice.
Giddens, who also tripled, threw a complete-game one-hitter. She struck out two.
CCA is 17-3 and wraps the season today on the road at Robert Toombs Christian Academy in a showdown between two of the best teams in Class A. Three weeks ago, the Lady Patriots walked off the Crusaders thanks to a two-run double by Abrah Harris in the bottom of the eighth. The state tournament begins next Thursday in Columbus.
