The Coffee Middle School Trojans baseball A-Team won over Lowndes Middle 10-2 on Tuesday at home. The Trojans got on the board first when Carver Ricketson doubled to score one run. RBI singles by Ryder Elston and Ishawn Turner gave Coffee a 3-0 lead after two innings of play. Conley McDaniel’s double in the fourth gave the Trojans a 5-1 lead.

Coffee garnered ten hits in the game, with Elston, Ricketson, and McDaniel each collecting two hits in the game. Other Trojans with a hit included Cole Deems, Jonah Squires, Turner and Dalton Rish. Deems earned the win for Coffee on the mound. He threw a complete game; scattered six hits and one earned run. The right hander struck out four and walked no one.

Coffee Middle School’s baseball B-team picked up two close wins over Thomas County Middle on Wednesday in Douglas. In game one, Jonah Squires scored the winning run on a wild pitch to give the Trojans a 6-5 walk off win. Squires also picked up the pitching win, tossing a complete game and striking out two while walking no one. Canaan Stalvey had two hits and Peyton Grantham, Uriah Amerson, Ryder Donahue and Luke Miller each drove in one run for the Trojans.

Coffee completed the sweep with another one-run victory over the Yellow Jackets, 7-6 in the night cap. Aydon Musgrove had what would become the game winning play, hitting a triple to score two and advancing on an error to give the Trojans a 7-4 lead. Musgrove had three hits, two RBI, and three runs scored. Coffee also got two more hits from Stalvey in game two and Stalvey also picked up the win on the mound. Henry Stallings made a great play in center field and came in to pitch in the last inning – earning the save.
