Kaimrhon Bonaventure, 25, formerly of Douglas, is in jail in Maryland on a variety of charges stemming from several incidents, including the alleged sexual assault of a 96-year-old Hyattsville, Md., nursing home resident. Bonaventure was at one time an aspiring rapper who went by the stage name Skud Newbie and experienced a modicum of success several years ago.
According to a story posted by wjl.com/ABC 7News, Bonaventure was already in custody for a different incident when he was connected to the sexual assault. The assault occurred on Sept. 19, 2024, according to the site. A nurse saw a man wearing all black run out of a patient’s room and outside of the home. The victim, a 96-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Bonaventure has been charged with third and fourth degree sex offenses and second degree assault, the story says.
Another publication, thebaynet.com, describes other alleged crimes committed by Bonaventure. He was arrested on Nov. 27, 2024, for allegedly violating multiple protective order violations. Authorities arrested Bonaventure on Nov. 14, 2024, for trespassing and burglary in Lexington Park, Md. The story states that Bonaventure was found sleeping in a box truck and claimed to be homeless. Two days later, he was arrested again on burglary charges.
Several online sites still report that Bonaventure lives at a West Schley Street address.
According to other reports, DNA collected from the sexual assault matched Bonaventure’s DNA that was on file with Maryland authorities.
Bonaventure left Douglas and went to California to pursue a music career. DouglasNow has done two stories on the rapper – one in 2019 and another in 2021. At that time, he had one single that had over two million streams and two more with over a million. Bonaventure seemed as though he was on the way to a successful music career until personal issues altered his course.
