Coffee track athletes perform well at Hiram Johnson Underclassmen Invitational

The Coffee High Trojans traveled to Valdosta High School to participate in the Hiram Johnson Underclassmen Invitational on March 26. Valdosta High School was the host site for this meet due to the facility renovations to the Lowndes County High School track. The meet is named for a former Coffee County resident who graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Douglas. Coach Johnson has retired from the Lowndes County School System and has established a dominant track program through his years of service. The Lady Trojans placed second in the meet with 152.50 points trailing Lowndes County Lady Vikings 207 points.

Tylasia Sweet White ran a personal best in the 400 meter dash 1:02.10. Angeline Johnson earned a first place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time of 14:49.99. Sophomore Kahariyona White placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.60 seconds. White also took first place in 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.80 for a new personal record. She also set a new personal record in the triple jump clearing 35 feet and 7 inches.

Madisyn Turner cleared 15 feet in the long jump for a first place finish. Ambriel High had a big throw in the shot put clearing 30 feet and 10 inches.

The Trojan 4X100 relay team finished first with a time of 43.80 seconds. Sophomore Kaloni Styles earned a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.30.

Sophomore JaKareyun Tims finished second in the 800 meter run with a new personal record of 2:13.30. The Lady Trojan 4X100 meter relay team of Madiysn Turner, Nicole Lloyd, Nahla Franklin and Tylissa Sweet White finished third with a time of 52.50 seconds. The Lady Trojan 4X200 meter relay team of Ti’Maya Warren, L’Kia Warren, Ella Edge and Tylissa Sweet White finished with a time of 1:52.70 for a third place finish.

The Lady Trojan 4X400 meter relay team of Nicole Lloyd, Ella Edge, Kaloni Styles and Kashariyona White finished third with a time of 5:02.50. Kaloni Styles tied for third place with a 4 foot and 6 inch jump in the high jump. Tylisia Sweet White cleared 14 feet and 3.5 inches in the long jump.

Freshman Lamario Howard made a new personal record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:14.20 seconds to finish third. Ambriel High established a new personal record in the discus clearing 80 feet and 1 inch for a third place finish. Chris Stinson improved his personal record to 11.40 seconds to tie for third place in the 100 meter dash.

Freshman Angeline Johnson finished fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6 minutes and 43.90 seconds. JaKareyun Tims finished with 5 minutes and 29.60 seconds in the 1600 meter run to tie for fourth place. Ella Edge set a new personal record with a 27.30 seconds in the 200 meter dash finishing fourth overall. Sydney Ragle placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:51.45 seconds. Miss Nahla Franklin finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.30 seconds. Ada Mizell threw a 27 feet and 6 inches in the shot put.

Freshman Morgan Hines tied for fifth place with a time of 19.90 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles. Morgan established a new personal record in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45.90 seconds. The Trojan 4X200 meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 1:39.30. The Trojan 4X400 meter relay ran 4:02.80. Demetrius Williams improved his personal record to a 11.60 seconds in the 100 meter dash for a sixth place finish.

Connor Lott ran a 5 minute and 30.90 seconds 1600 meter run for a sixth place finish.

Morgan Hines cleared 5 feet and 6 inches in the high jump for a new personal record.

Nicole Lloyd placed seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.90 seconds for a new personal record. Christina Smith set a new personal record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.90 seconds for a seventh place finish. Sophomore L’Kia Wilson set a new personal record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:08.20 to finish seventh.

Sophomore Ella Edge cleared 62 feet and 6 inches in the discus throw. Freshman King Lewis established a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet and 10 inches. Sydney Ragle finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:08.5. Jazaria Roper finished the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 56.20 seconds for an eighth place finish. Ada Mizell placed eighth in the discus, clearing 57 feet and 1 inch.
