CCA Patriots senior infield and right-handed pitcher Jonathan Rutland will continue his baseball career at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon.
Friday morning, Rutland signed his letter of intent with the Barons at a ceremony with his family and teammates at CCA. An All Region and All State selection last season, this year Rutland is hitting .352 with one home run and 22 RBI. He also has three triples and a double. On the mound, Rutland is 2-1 with a 5.16 ERA in seven appearances (20 1/3 innings).
The Patriots are 11-6-2 overall and 6-0 in region play. They begin a three-game series this week with Robert Toombs Academy in Lyons. Two of the three will take place in Lyons. The lone home game of the week will be played Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 4:30.
