A 31-year-old was arrested and jailed after he allegedly fired multiple shots at the mother of his child from the Dollar General on North Madison Avenue.
An incident report from the Douglas Police Department states that on June 7, 2025, just before 11 p.m., Terrence Warren Jr., 31, walked from Georgian Woods Apartments to the Dollar General across from Circle K. According to the report, Warren fired two shots back to back in the direction of the Dollar General. The victim, who has a child with Warren and is pregnant with a second child of his, was at the store at the time but left because, the report says, she feared for her life.
When officers arrived, they discovered one shell casing in the area where Warren was standing when the shots were fired. As the investigation continued, officers were able to contact the victim via cell phone. The report says that the victim was not giving officers much information; investigators soon figured out it was because Warren was with her. After the incident at the Circle K, the victim said she went to pick up her aunt to take her home. Warren was at that location and when the victim arrived, he got in the car with her.
Officers saw the victim’s vehicle riding around, a gold Honda Accord, and conducted a traffic stop. The gun allegedly used in the incident belonged to the victim. However, by the time officers made the stop, Warren was not in possession of the gun and officers were unable to locate it.
Warren was arrested and charged with aggravated assault (family violence) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail. No one was injured in the incident.
