A 30-year-old from Broxton was arrested and charged with misuse of 911, along with other charges, after she allegedly called 911 and verbally abused operators after a deputy would not arrest her neighbor.
According to a report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, on July 17, 2025, at 6:50 a.m., a deputy responded to the Aden’s on Alabama Street in Broxton to meet with Ashley Brooke Anthony, 30, of Broxton. Anthony told the deputy that she wanted her neighbor arrested. In the report, Anthony stated that she walked outside and saw her neighbor standing in the neighbor’s own yard, “dancing, shaking her ass, and shooting birds in her direction.” She also said her neighbor had a man staying with her who wasn’t supposed to be there. Anthony stated that the two of them “are causing her blood pressure to go up.”
Anthony was also upset because when she calls law enforcement, no arrests are ever made, the report says. The deputy told Anthony that her neighbor hadn’t committed any crimes but he would go to talk to her. Anthony said that if he wasn’t going to arrest the neighbor, there was no need to talk to her. Anthony then asked to speak to a supervisor but declined after the deputy told her she could talk to a supervisor at the sheriff’s office. The deputy left the scene and went back into service.
A few minutes later, 911 called the deputy back and said that Anthony had called several times, and the last time she used profanity at the operators. The deputies went back to the scene and found Anthony in her car saying she was about to have a seizure. The deputy called EMS and they checked her out. Everything looked good and EMS cleared her, the report says. The deputy told Anthony she would be charged with misuse of 911 and asked her to get out of the car. The report says she wouldn’t get out. Other deputies had arrived by this point and they removed her from the vehicle. While they escorted her to the patrol car, the report says that Anthony vomited. After vomiting, she continued her profanity-laced tirade to the officers, according to the report.
On the way to the jail, the deputy noticed that Anthony had her head back and not responding. He and the other deputies stopped to check on her. She was breathing but not responding. The continued to the jail where nurses took over. She was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center where she was administered medication.
Anthony was booked into the Coffee County Jail around 11 a.m. that morning on charges of misuse of 911 and obstruction of officers. She was released on bond.
