Coffee Regional Medical Center was honored to serve as the host site for the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce’s 2025 July meeting. As one of the state’s most respected healthcare organizations, the Board plays a vital role in ensuring access to quality healthcare across Georgia by supporting physician training, recruitment, and retention—especially in underserved areas.

The Board selects one site annually for a meeting held away from its Atlanta offices.  Coffee Regional was selected and proudly welcomed the group to Douglas for their meeting. The event proved to be a productive and meaningful exchange among some of Georgia’s top healthcare leaders.

During the meeting, Jim Barber, M.D. of Southeastern Orthopaedics, a valued and long-standing member of Coffee Regional’s medical staff, was recognized for his outstanding leadership and dedicated service as Chairman of the Board for the past three years. Dr. Barber’s contributions have been instrumental in advancing the Board’s mission, and CRMC extends its heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to him.

“We are deeply grateful to the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce for selecting Coffee Regional Medical Center for the July meeting,” said Vicki Lewis, President & CEO of Coffee Regional. “It was a privilege to welcome such an important group to our campus and to celebrate the leadership of Dr. Barber.”

Coffee Regional Medical Center remains committed to supporting the development of Georgia’s healthcare workforce and is proud to partner with organizations that share this vision.
