For the third time in nine weeks, Christopher Brent Johnson, 44, has been arrested and jailed. This latest incident, which took place on July 24, 2025, involves the most serious allegations of the three incidents. Johnson was released after the first two arrests. This time, however, he remains in jail.
On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 2:55 a.m., detectives with the Douglas-Coffee County Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on Johnson. During the course of the stop, detectives located a significant quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Johnson’s possession.
As a result, Johnson was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with intent to distribute (fentanyl).
Johnson was transported to the Coffee County Jail, where he remains in custody pending judicial proceedings.
These charges are among the most serious under Georgia law, particularly given the highly addictive and deadly nature of the drugs involved. Fentanyl, in even the smallest amounts, continues to claim lives across the state and nation.
“I have sent a clear and unwavering message — if you’re in the drug business, you’re not welcome here. And we will find you, shut you down, and hold you accountable,” states Sheriff Fred Cole.
