On July 26, 2025 at around 1 a.m., deputies responded to the boat ramp at Baymeadows in response to a domestic incident that ended in two alleged physical altercations. As a result, three individuals were arrested and jailed.
The incident report from the sheriff’s office states that a group of people pulled up to the boat ramp. One of them, Daymon Clark, 25, of Broxton, started arguing with Brittney Surrency, 28, who was already at the boat ramp and in the water. The report says that Clark went into the water, grabbed Surrency by the hair, and began hitting her in the face, cutting her over her right eyebrow.
After the altercation with Clark, the report says that Surrency and Elyrika Hodge, 20, of Douglas, also got into a fight. Clark has a child with both Surrency and Hodge, according to the report. During the investigation, officers learned that Surrency had sent messages telling Hodge to come to her house so they could fight. The report also says that Surrency had posted a Snapchat story of her at the boat ramp, which is how they knew where to find her.
The group with Clark and Hodge (there were several others present as well) left in two different vehicles. An officer spotted one of the vehicles and initiated a traffic stop. Clark, however, was not in the vehicle but he was later arrested at a local apartment complex.
As a result of the investigation, Surrency and Hodge were both arrested and charged with affray. Clark was arrested on July 27, 2025, and charged with battery. All three were booked into the Coffee County Jail and released.
