Ms. Marie Davis Steedley, age 72, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Friday afternoon, August 22, 2025 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehab following a lengthy illness.

Ms. Steedley was born May 29, 1953 in Gastonia, North Carolina, to the late George Edward Davis and the late Mary Bynum Davis. She was a homemaker, as well as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, games on her phone, cooking, and taking an afternoon outing. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Ms. Steedley leaves behind 4 children: Katrina S. Anderson and husband Charles, Linda Faye S. Crews, Wilbert Steedley, Jr. and wife Rachel, all of Douglas, Georgia, and Alicia S. Myers and husband Robert, of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Rose Blackwell and husband Anthony, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ruth Howard and husband Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jackie Fagan of Jacksonville, Florida; and a brother, Jerry ”Tommy” Burns of Pensacola, Florida; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Along with her parents, Ms. Steedley was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Sally D. Johns, Mary D. Becker, Mary Etta D. Walker; and 2 brothers: Donald “Bo” Walker and Carl Buster Bynum.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no services are scheduled at this time.

Ms. Steedley’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
